My 5-minute everyday makeup look is something I have perfected over the years because I AM CONSTANTLY RUNNING LATE! Any ladies out there that can relate?!? I’m not sure if it’s because I hit the snooze button fifteen times, I like to take my time getting ready or what the excuse is but man, this girl is always late!
Lucky for me and my morning routine, I favor the more natural makeup look. As I have grown into the woman I am now, I have come to learn that less is more, especially for my face. I would describe my overall vibe as a bare beauty and I enjoy letting my natural features make a statement.
So let’s get ready together! I will walk you through my 5-minute everyday makeup look that even the busiest of ladies can achieve.
Makeup Products
I am by no means a makeup junkie but I have been a cult follower of BareMinerals since I started wearing makeup at 16 years old…yeah I was a late bloomer HAH! Their products and makeup have always worked beautifully with my skin and complement my features perfectly! BareMinerals products have also always been gentle on my sensitive skin. Recently, I have been battling rosacea so that’s not cute!
Pre-Makeup Routine
Before I apply any makeup to my face, I always make sure to lay the foundation! This means cleansing my skin, moisturizing, and applying primer. I also always make sure my skin is protected from the sun so if I’m not wearing a makeup product that also has sunscreen in it, I make sure to add a layer. This routine is normally done right after my shower so my skin has time to soak in the products. While my foundational products are doing their thing I am packing my lunch, feeding the fur children, and getting dressed. Now that my skin is prepped and ready for makeup let’s get to the good good!
Start Your Timer
When applying makeup, I know a lot of the pro’s start with their eye makeup just in case there is any eyeshadow fallout…I’m not a pro so I don’t start with my eyes HAH!
Now that we are headed into the colder months here in New England, my rosacea has been kicking my ass. In the summertime, it is never an issue and I can either get away with wearing no face makeup or just a light layer of BareMinerals Complexion Rescue. Nowadays, I cover up the rosacea redness with the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation stick and a light layer of BarePro Performance Wear Powder Foundation.
Next up is eyeshadow. Keeping with that bare beauty theme I love so much, I use the Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Neutral. I follow my eyeshadow up with two layers of Lashtopia Mascara. I used to get eyelash extensions (it kills my soul I don’t do them anymore) and that would save me a lot of time…honestly I wouldn’t even wear makeup. I’d feel so glamorous with just my lashes!
For my next trick….EYEBROWS! I love my eyebrows! They are my favorite feature! My brows are fluffy, dominant, and scream “I mean business.” When I was younger I was so insecure about my thick brows! I was a few hairs away from looking like Frida Kahlo that when I finally was allowed to pluck my brows, I basically plucked them completely off! Took me years to recover from that horrible mistake! FLUFFY BROWS ARE IN LADIES! I use e.l.f eyebrow gel to fill mine in!
Lastly, I finish up with BareMinerals Bronzer in Faux Tan. I love a natural, glowy look so bronzer is essential to my makeup routine. I apply it to all the places on my face that the sun would naturally hit. Reminds me of summer and it makes me happy! Because of the constant mask-wearing, I have been skipping lipstick these days. If I do wear it, I favor a pretty pink or a neutral color!
End timer!
That’s a wrap on my 5-minute everyday makeup routine. It is perfect for work or running errands. By no means is this look a full coverage look. I am not a fan of layers of makeup on my face…it’s just not my jam and quite honestly, I do not have the time in the morning to put in that kind of effort.
This look can easily be recreated with products from your own makeup collection!
