Looking for a delicious cocktail but not looking for all the sugar and calories that come along with it? Well look no further…my top 3 favorite skinny cocktails will get ya feelin fine without the guilt!
Now that we are almost a month into the new year, how is everyone doing on those 2021 goals? If you are anything like me, you are making a conscious effort to fuel your body with nourishing foods and not binge out on dominos pizza and ice cream…although pizza sounds glorious ?
Eating and drinking clean is something that is important to a lot of us, myself included, but sometimes your girl just wants to chill out and enjoy a nice cocktail or two…sound familiar?
I have rounded up my top 3 favorite skinny cocktails that can get the goose feelin loose without the added sugar. These drinks are all Texas-inspired…y’all know my love for Texas runs deep! Check them out below!
My Favorite Skinny Cocktails
The Chilton
The Chilton is a Lubbock, TX original! If you have been to West Texas and haven’t tried a Chilton you clearly are not living your best life. It basically tastes liked spiked lemonade but WAYYY better! You can mix it up by making a cucumber Chilton, which is equally, if not better than the original lemon flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2oz. Vodka
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Soda water
Rim a glass with salt or sugar, then fill with ice.
Add vodka and lemon juice.
Fill the glass with soda water and stir gently.
Garnish with lemon wedge.
Margarita
How can anyone say no to a classic margarita or “maa garita” as I apparently say it…this is probably the only word I pronounce with a Boston accent haha. Tequila will forever be my favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Tequila
- 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
- 3 oz sparkling water
Rim a lowball glass with salt or sugar
In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, squeezed lime juice, and ice. Shake well
Pour into the glass over ice
Top with sparkling water and stir
Garnish with a lime wedge
Ranch Water
How is this any different than a margarita you ask? It’s the Topo Chico. Topo Chico is mineral water and is one of my favorite little treats from Texas. Every time I find it at the grocery store up here in New England, I buy all of it off the shelf!
Ingredients
- 2 oz Tequila
- 4 oz Topo Chico
- Lime wedge
Rim a glass with salt
Fill glass with ice
Add tequila and Topo Chico
Squeeze one lime wedge for flavoring
Garnish with another lime wedge
I hope you enjoy these cocktails as much as I do! If you give them a try, let me know what you think by commenting below! As always, drink responsibly!
